VETS Helps Keep Fires at Bay Without Risking Icing

Driving over a field or pulling off the road is dangerous in hot and dry conditions. Just driving on these surfaces creates an increased risk of a fire, and that fire can spread rapidly, quickly becoming out of control. One solution to this is the use of under vehicle sprayer circuit, but that can turn surfaces slick in cold temperatures.

Now, with the invention of VETS: the Vehicle Emergency Terrain Sprayer, there’s a fast, reliable solution that helps prevent fires and risks without creating a risk of ice building on roadways.

What Is VETS?

VETS was created by C.B. Breed. The device is a modification to the existing motor vehicle spray circuit system.

In vehicles that are already equipped with a vehicle sprayer circuit, the biggest problem is that, after spraying surfaces, like roadways, to prevent fires, cold temperatures can create very dangerous icy conditions that, once again, worsen risks for drivers. Typically, this circuit works in all temperatures and conditions to put out fires should they develop in very dry conditions. However, this creates a significant risk in that it does not take into consideration the temperature outdoors.

However, with VETS, there is a new solution. This modification to the motor vehicle spray circuit helps to prevent the utilization of the circuit in freezing temperatures.

How Does VETS Work?

Vehicles are installed onto the motor vehicle spray circuit, making it a very affordable modification to existing vehicle systems rather than requiring a full replacement of components. The modification to the motor vehicle spray circuit prevents the utilization of the circuit in freezing temperatures, therefore eliminating the risk of spraying in very risky situations.

When the temperature drops below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, the thermistor automatically presents a closed circuit. The closed circuit does not allow the circuit nor the washer pump to operate. This is a built in safety feature that eliminates the risk of the sprayer creating a dangerously slick surface while the vehicle is in operation.

The Benefits of VETS

There are numerous benefits to the installation of VETS onto vehicles operating in dry conditions:

  • It is a modification of existing systems, requiring less installation time and cost.
  • It enhances vehicle safety for all vehicles that have the vehicle sprayer circuit already in place.
  • It minimizes costly accidents and property damage from these circumstances.
